I was born and raised here in McPherson, Kansas to two loving, christian parents. My parents were very involved at the churches we attended, so naturally, I was continually reminded of my need for Christ. While I was still quite young, my dad took me to a men’s bible study each week. It was late one night after a study that I remember being convicted of sinning against a Holy God. I realized I spent all my days serving myself, following the course of this world, and pursuing only that which I thought would benefit me. In talking with my parents shortly thereafter, I realized that was not why we were created. There I repented and began to acknowledge that we are to do all things according to the glory of God. (1 Cor. 10:31) God saved me and graciously gave me the faith needed to trust that Christ was the righteous substitute that I needed to be able to stand before God Almighty.

I attended a small private, christian school, not far from McPherson, with a sweet girl named Elisabeth. We began kindergarten in the same class together and continued through all thirteen years of schooling. Shortly after we graduated high school, we quickly pursued marriage. I am so thankful for her and the blessing she is to our family. The Lord had given us 4 wonderful children to raise and train: Quincey, Ivy, James, and Houston. We are incredibly grateful to be able to raise them amongst the help and wisdom of this local Church.

While in my junior year of high school, Cornerstone slowly began to emerge here in McPherson, and we were part of the small group that was there since the beginning. It has truly been life changing being part of this Church family who, because of their love for Christ, overflow with love and service to one another. I’m indebted to the people here who God has worked through to continually care for me and my family.

For the first 10 years of Cornerstone, I enjoyed serving in what ways I could, as I was also working in a construction business with my father. In January of 2021, I was given the opportunity to come on staff here at Cornerstone. It has been a great joy, and I look forward to seeing how the Lord works in the years to come. I pray that he uses us to put on display the immeasurable riches of his grace for the world to see.
